Frequently asked
questions.

Everything you need to know about how Sofia works — for companies and for authors.

All questions
Is Sofia a recruitment agency?
No. Sofia is a technical screening agency. We do not find candidates, post job listings, or place people into roles. We evaluate the candidates you already have — and tell you clearly whether they have the AEM knowledge the role requires.
Think of us like a home inspector. We don't find the house. We tell you if the one you already picked is solid or has problems hidden behind the walls.
Who conducts the interviews?
Every interview is conducted by a senior AEM Content Author with real enterprise experience. Not recruiters. Not HR generalists. People who have worked in AEM for 6 to 10+ years across large-scale platforms — and who know exactly what good looks like from the inside.
What does Sofia specialize in?
Exclusively AEM Content Authors. We do not evaluate developers, QA engineers, front-end engineers, or other CMS profiles. Our entire panel, methodology, and tooling is built around one role — which means we can evaluate it at a depth that no generalist agency can match.
Where is Sofia based?
Sofia operates remotely. Our expert panel spans Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Italy. We work with companies and candidates globally, with coverage across CST, EST, and CET time zones.
What languages does the panel speak?
Our experts conduct interviews in English, Spanish, and Italian. We believe a candidate performs better when evaluated in a language they are fully comfortable in — and that produces a more accurate signal for the company.
For companies
Can Sofia work alongside our existing recruiter or staffing agency?
Yes. Sofia is designed to plug into your existing hiring process without replacing it. Your recruiter handles sourcing and first contact. We handle the technical layer. The two are complementary, not competitive.
Do we need to give Sofia access to our AEM instance?
No. We use our own AEM simulator — a replica of Adobe Experience Manager's Touch UI built specifically for interviews. Candidates navigate a real-looking AEM environment without touching your production instance or any client data.
What does the assessment report include?
Each report covers the candidate's AEM navigation confidence, knowledge of core concepts (DAM, Experience Fragments, MSM, Language Copies, etc.), any red flags identified during the interview, and a clear recommendation. You focus on culture fit and final decisions — we handle the technical signal.
How long does an interview take?
Typically 45 to 60 minutes. The report is delivered within 24 hours of the session.
What is your cancellation policy?
All engagements require 24 hours notice for cancellation. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a 50% fee. This policy exists to respect our experts' time — they are active professionals who schedule around these commitments.
How does pricing work?
We offer three engagement models: per interview, per hire, or retainer. The right model depends on your hiring volume and cadence. Get in touch and we will walk you through the options that make sense for your team.
What's the difference between an AEM Content Author and an AEM Developer?
An AEM Content Author builds and manages pages using existing components, templates, and the DAM. They handle content structure, localization, publishing, and day-to-day site operations. An AEM Developer builds the components, templates, and backend architecture the authors use. The two roles require completely different skill sets, and confusing them is one of the most common hiring mistakes companies make. This is exactly the gap Sofia exists to close.
How is Sofia different from posting on a job board or using LinkedIn Recruiter?
Job boards and LinkedIn Recruiter help you find candidates. They don't tell you if those candidates actually know AEM. Sofia adds the technical validation layer that's missing, we don't replace your sourcing, we make sure what comes out the other end is real.
Can we request a specific seniority level or specialization?
Yes. Whether you need someone senior with multi-site and localization experience, or a mid-level author strong in DAM and component-based authoring, let us know the profile and we match accordingly.
For authors
Does Sofia charge authors to join the talent pool?
Never. Joining Sofia's pre-validated talent pool is completely free for authors. We earn on the company side when an introduction leads to a hire — not from the people we represent.
Is there exclusivity?
No. Being part of Sofia's talent pool does not require exclusivity of any kind. You can apply to jobs independently, work with other agencies, and pursue opportunities on your own — at the same time. Your career stays yours.
What does the validation process look like?
You will have a technical conversation with one of our senior AEM experts. It is not a stressful exam — it is a peer-to-peer conversation about how you work in AEM. We want to understand your real experience so we can match you accurately with companies that need exactly what you bring.
What happens after I am validated?
Your profile joins the pool. When a company is looking for someone with your profile, we reach out to check if you are available and interested. We only introduce you when you say yes — no surprises, no unsolicited submissions.
I am not senior level yet. Can I still join?
Yes. If you are close to senior level but have specific knowledge gaps, you may be eligible for Sofia Community University — our training program for AEM authors who need to close the gap before joining the pool. No cost. Just commitment.
Sofia Community University is currently in development. Apply to the pool and we will keep you posted.
What if I fail the validation interview?
It's not a pass/fail wall. If there are gaps, we tell you honestly what they are. Depending on the gap, you may be a fit for Sofia Community University to close it and try again later.
Can I update my profile or availability after I join the pool?
Yes, anytime. Just reach out and we'll update it. Pool profiles are meant to reflect where you actually are right now.
Our services
What is Resume Screening?
Send us a resume and we give you a fast yes or no — with a one-line reason. No calls, no back and forth. Response within 24 hours. Up to 5 resumes per batch.
What is Interview as a Service?
You bring the candidate. We run a structured technical interview using our AEM simulator, tailored to your specific setup — Classic UI, Touch UI, headless, or a combination. After the session you receive a written assessment report with a clear recommendation.
What is the Pre-validated Talent Pool?
A curated bench of senior AEM Content Authors who have already been evaluated by our panel. Profiles are filtered by seniority, timezone, and availability. When you need someone, you skip the evaluation stage and go straight to the final interview with your team.
What is Sofia Community University?
A training program currently in development for AEM Content Authors who are close to senior level but need to reinforce specific concepts. Authors go through structured training, then join the pre-validated pool. No cost to participants.
Currently in development. Reach out to join the waitlist.
